New England States Consortium Systems Organization Names David J. Huffman as New Executive Director
07/19/2022

The New England States Consortium Systems Organization (NESCSO) announces the appointment of David Huffman as the organization’s new executive director. He is the fourth individual to hold the role in the 23-year history of the organization. With NESCSO for ten years, he most recently served as the acting executive director.

NESCSO seeks to support Medicaid systems across the country, hosting an annual conference that draws state Medicaid officials and business partners from around the country, as well as year-round working groups that examine new technologies and improvements in Medicaid IT systems. The organization also hosts learning communities in health information technology and Medicaid quality and pharmacy.

“David’s experience and understanding of the organization will serve NESCSO well as the Board develops a strategic plan for the organization’s future,” said NESCSO Board Chair Bill Halsey, deputy director of Medicaid and Health Services for the State of Connecticut.

“David’s tireless commitment to ensuring a successful MESC Conference and supporting members states over the past 10 years has not gone unnoticed.” said Amanda Cassel Kraft, Massachusetts’ Assistant Secretary for MassHealth and NESCSO Board Chair until last month.

A graduate of Worcester State University, Huffman holds two master’s degrees; one in health care administration and the second in non-profit and organizational management.
